On March 25, 2020 Governor Andy Beshear signed Executive Order 2020-257 ordering all non-life-sustaining businesses close. This resulted in all in-person testing sites for insurance examinations being closed.
Applications currently pending for insurance examination(s) have an expiration date, which may be found in the eServices account. As the expiration date approaches, those individuals should email the Agent Licensing Division at DOI.AgentLicensingMail@ky.gov with their request for extension. Upon receiving the emailed request, and when the expiration date has passed, division staff will manually extend the expiration date, providing a new 120-day window for scheduling an examination.
When Executive Order 2020-257 is lifted, all applications pending examination, with an expiration date prior to 60-day grace period from the Executive Order termination date, will automatically be extended to the 60th day. For those applications with an expiration date past the 60-day extension period, the date will not be extended.
Example 1 – Executive Order 2020-257 is lifted on 8/01/2020. John Doe has an expiration date of 8/15/2020. The exam extension will be revised to 10/01/2020.
Example 2 – Executive Order 2020-257 is lifted on 8/01/2020. John Doe has an expiration date of 10/15/2020. The exam will not be revised, but remains the same – 10/15/2020.
