The Property and Casualty Branch is accountable for the overall regulation of state and federal requirements pertaining to commercial and personal lines insurance, workers' compensation, medical malpractice, surplus lines, mine subsidence, risk retention groups, and risk purchasing groups. Kentucky statutes and regulations require insurance carriers to file rates, rules, and forms with the Division of Insurance Product Regulation to ensure compliance with insurance laws and regulations. Currently, all rate and rule filings must be processed within 30 days and forms within 60 days. The Division of Insurance Product Regulation consistently meets or exceeds speed-to-market initiatives.
