The Health and Life and Managed Care Division regulates insurance companies and health maintenance organizations offering various types of health and life insurance products. Through application of statutory requirements, the branch reviews policy forms, certificates, applications, rate filings, life settlements contracts and other forms as necessary to assure that the health and life products being offered in Kentucky meet the applicable statutory and regulatory standards. The Health and Life area works directly with the Office of Legal Services and the Division of Consumer Protection on matters such as consumer complaints.
The Consumer Guide to Long-Term Care Insurance in Kentucky, the Medicare Supplement Guide, the Life Insurance Buyer's Guide, the Annuity Buyer's Guide and the Life Settlement Buyers Guide are available upon request free of charge. Publications and others items of interest to Kentuckians also are available online.
If you think you might be a beneficiary under a life insurance policy or an annuity contract and have not received a claim settlement, you may be entitled to unclaimed funds. To search, access the Unclaimed Property Search via the Kentucky State Treasurer’s website.
