The Property & Casualty Division's major task includes review of policy contracts, rates, and rules used for all property and casualty products to assure their compliance with KY law. P&C records medical malpractice claims and provides quarterly reports to state medical licensure boards. Registration of Risk Purchasing Groups and Exempt Commercial Policyholders; processing of no-fault rejections, reimbursements for charitable healthcare premiums. The Mine Subsidence Program is administered through P&C as well.

The Surplus Lines area regulates information written by a non-admitted insurance company in the Commonwealth. Surplus lines companies and brokers provide an alternative market for specialty and hard-to-place risks when coverage is not available from admitted insurance carriers.
